Prayers Requested for State Secretary's father - fractured his hip in 3 or 4 places

Brother Knights & Ladies,

Prayers are Requested for State Secretary Paul Dendary's father.  Last night (12/30/05) he fell and fractured his hip in 3 or 4 places.  He was care-flighted to Washoe Medical Center in Reno from Winnemucca.  They will operate tomorrow (1/1/06) at approximately 2:00 pm to replace his hip.  Because of his age and the blood clots in his leg the doctors gave him a 50-75% chance of making it through the 5 to 6 hour surgery.

State Secretary Paul, asks for your prayers for his father.  He will be flying to Reno tomorrow morning to be with his father.

Please keep the State Secretary's father and the Dendary family in your prayers.

Vivat Jesus,
State Council

Prayers Requested for the repose of Brother Louis C. Cauhape's soul

Our Brother Louis C. Cauhape was called to join his wife today, Thursday, December 22, 2005. He had a peaceful and relatively painless death, among friends and in his home where he wanted to be.   He will be sorely missed by his Brother's from Mesquite Council #13754. He was always there to do his part whenever there was something to do by his Brother Knight's and especially for the Catholic Church.

He is our first member to pass away and will be the first entry on our Council's Memorial Plaque honoring our departed Brother's.   Father Clarence commented after administering, the Anointment of the Sick, that he had rarely ever encountered someone as prepared and ready to depart this world as our beloved Lou Cauhape.

There will be a Requiem Mass next Friday, Dec 30, 2005, Time to be announced later, La Virgin de Guadalupe Catholic Church, Bunkerville, NV.

Prayers Requested

Brothers,   Your prayers are requested for Sir Knight Donald Livingston, PGK of Council 9102. He sustained a serious trauma as his vehicle slipped while he was working underneath it. He underwent surgery at the UMC Trauma Center.

Fortunately, Brother Don's injury wasn't nearly as as grim as first described. His injury was only to his jaw, and not to his head, so success is much more likely than we were first told. He has made it through his surgery, where it was necessary for a plate to be inserted into his jaw and for his jaw to be wired shut. The injury was sustained on Sunday Oct 30th after losing control of a four wheeler being loaded into his truck.

Your thoughts and prayers for Don's recovery are certainly still needed and appreciated.

Deacon Richard Sarver, Council #5693, Las Vegas, is in need of prayers. His wife Sylvia says he was taken to Mt. view hospital several days ago and diagnosed with strep pneumonia and if they hadn't gotten him to the hospital when they did, he would have died. They have found a medicine that seems to finally be working. But the oxygen level is still under 90 and the lungs are still not clear, but the nurse says he is improving. Gets breathing treatments every four hours. Will probably be there another week.  Not contagious. Oxygen level was 49 and 42 is fatal and his blood pressure was 88/55. So we do need prayers. If tests are good, he hopes to go home within the next day or so.

Asking everyone to keep us in their prayers.  My father's brother, David Hudspeth, died Thursday evening. He had a massive heart attack the July 4th weekend and never recovered.

My mother is still recovering from her stroke, also the July 4th weekend. Some days are better than others for her. I spoke with her yesterday, her birthday, and she was having real difficulty talking and comprehending what I was saying. She was also complaining about chest pains. Dad says her nitro dosage is not strong enough. We will see. In any event, please keep her in your prayers as well.

God Bless,

Ron Cherry
