Thank you for prayers, Ed Irigoyen

Dear Ladies and Brother Knights and all my friends,

Ed Irigoyen writing to thank everyone who offered prayers for my fast recovery.  After a mild heart attack I was sent to the hospital to stabilize my blood pressure and heart rate which got extremely low with the medication I was on for several years.  My heart rate went so low that my home monitor wouldn't read it.

I am now under new medication and my blood pressure and heart rate are now stable.  I pray that the new medication will keep me healthy and strong.  I went for a nuclear stress test yesterday and the Doctor was very impressed with the results.

Again, Brother Knights and Ladies I thank you for your prayers.  Edith and my daughter Christine also wants to thank you for your quick response.     We miss you all.

Ed Irigoyen

Update on Ed Irigoyen, please continue prayers

I would like to let you know my fathers doing much better.  So well in fact that they released him this afternoon.  He will be under the watchful eye of my mother and myself, and of course his doctor.  Apparently his blood pressure medicine was the culprit, so they have re-issued a different kind with better results.
I am a firm believer that the power of prayer is unmatched, and appreciate your willingness to keep my fathers welfare in constant vigil.  We can now pray he stays healthy and responds well to the new medicine.  Thank you again.

In Christ,
Christine Chapman

He is in Mercy Medical Center in Nampa, ID.  He is in intensive care and is doing okay at this time, he suffered no side effects that are evident.  He will probably be there for 3-4 days.  ...I will be happy to try and keep everyone informed as to what the out come is.

Please lift him up for a healthy, and speedy recovery.  Thank you very much.  God bless you.

A hero dies
(excerpt from WorldViews - Daily News/Christian Views - May 15, 2006)

It's one week until Memorial Day, and here's an email received today from Don Willett, a Texas supreme court justice, concerning his brother-in-law: "With profound sadness, I report the passing of a genuine American hero: Shane Mahaffee. Shane, 36 years old, was gravely wounded last week in Iraq, and he fought valiantly to overcome his injuries sustained when his convoy was attacked outside Baghdad. Shane embodied the best of America, and from the first moments after the attack (when he demanded his weapon so he could keep watch for the enemy while medics tended to the wounded) to his arrival at an Iraqi military hospital (when he insisted that his men be treated first and that his needs could wait), he acted instinctively with selflessness and undaunted courage. Shane sacrificed his life to expand freedom and to help a long-oppressed people live in liberty. He loved his family and his country with a whole heart. Shane Mahaffee was a hero and a patriot, through and through, and it is impossible to overstate his valor. Please pray fervently for Shane’s dear wife, Jennifer, and his two precious children – Adelia (5 years old) and Ethan (2 years old). The Mahaffee family is filled with great sorrow, but also with great pride. They, and our nation, have laid a costly sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

Update on PSD Ray Barozzi

Update on PSD Ray Barozzi (1989-1990), Christ the King, Council #7322, Reno:

I just got off the phone with Brother Ray. He sounds pretty good, but I know he would really like to hear from his Brother Knights. He doesn’t have e-mail so please write him a line or two and mail to his home at: 3485 Bryan Street, Reno, NV 89503-1910 or give him a call at 775-747-1801. A better "brotherly" way to reacquaint ourselves with this terrific and very dedicated Brother Knight is to pay him a personal visit. The days can be quite long and lonely if you are unable to leave your home as often as you would like, so if any Brother Knights in the Reno area can find time to visit him, please do so.
