Prayers requested for Brother Dee Scott

Brothers,   I'm asking for prayers for Brother Dee Scott, a charter member of Council 13924 in Dayton.  He has been recently diagnosed with Cortical Atrophy, which is a shrinking of the brain.  While it's been diagnosed in the early stages, the prognosis isn't good and there is no cure. It does mean that it's not reached a terminal stage, but it will be a slow and debilitating process.

This has been a very difficult time for Bro. Dee, both emotionally and financially, as he can no longer work due to his eyesight diminishing as well as severe headaches, that as Dee describes as being much worse than migraines.

Please offer your prayers for healing and strength for both Bro. Dee and his family.

PRAYERS REQUESTED FOR ROBERT A. HAZY, DISTRICT DEPUTY  #6

On December 21st  Robert  was hospitalized and surgery performed to correct disc problems in his back.  The surgery is still considered experimental in the United States, although it has been successful in other countries.   The need for this procedure is surprising for a man so young.  But doctors  feel that his youth will contribute to a full & speedy recovery.

Robert is now home & recuperating well.  Please no phone calls at his time for he has dashed his last, at least for the first few months.  But I’m sure your emails will cheer him & be much appreciated.  Contact him at  rob1123@yahoo.com

Please keep Robert & wife Colleen in your prayers.

Vivat Jesus,   Kevin J. Hazy, Sr, PGK

Prayers requested for little Gavin Rundy, Grandson of David Fitzgerald

Brother Knights,   Mesquite Council #13754 requests your prayers for our Brother David Fitzgerald's Grandson as noted below.     Vivat Jesus!   Brother Jim McCluskey, PGK

- - - - -
Good Afternoon Brothers,   I unfortunately we must come to my Brother Knights again this year and ask for your help. My family in praying for a very deserving young child.   This week my second grandson, Gavin Rundy, was diagnosed with a brain tumor that does not appear to be in a condition that would be suitable for a surgical treatment at this time without causing irreparable brain damage or the end of his young 18 month life.  This is a little guy that if you meet him is full of life and even sits still at mass… well most of the time he does.

I am asking for you to please add Gavin's name into your list of family members and friends that you will be asking Jesus to help.  I can assure you little Gavin Rundy, his older brother Nolan, his father Rob, his mother Kim, my daughter and the entire Fitzgerald and Rundy families will forever be grateful to you all.  We now have to put the outcome in Our Lords hand with all of your help.   Thank You.

Brother Dave Fitzgerald Sr

Prayers requested for Ethel Waudby, Nick Vuolo, and Jerry & Sharon Fransen

Dear friends,   Some of you may not know yet that Ethel Waudby, a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph H.O.M. in Las Vegas, choir member and Auxiliary member is in Summerlin Hospital.   Ethel first injured herself when she attempted to turn her mattress by herself and hurt her back - - slipped a disc.   She was being treated for that injury when she fell in the back yard, landing on stones.   She laid there for a good 4 hours, and when she felt she could get up, she fell again nearer the house, fracturing a rib. Needless-to-say, she could use some cheering up!   Summerlin Hospital's number is 233-7000, room 651.   It would also be nice if any of you are Extraordinary Ministers to the sick, could take her the Eucharist and pray with her a little.   Visits are also welcome.   Keep her and all our ill members in your prayers, too.   The Auxiliary has sent her flowers and Spiritual Bouquet, but a card from you would also be nice to  have.

Thanks - - Peggy Thompson

Also in need of prayers are Nick Vuolo of Council 10442, who is being monitored for heart problems, and  Jerry & Sharon Fransen.  Our Grand Knight Jerry is recovering from a hospital stay, and Sharon goes in for gall bladder surgery this weekend.  Cards to these friends would be nice, too.

Prayers requested for Helen Boganski and the Boganski family.

I am requesting prayer support from my Brother Knights for my Mother Helen Boganski.  She and my Father arrived here in Las Vegas on Friday, Sept 28th and on Saturday, Sept. 29th she suffered a "moderate" size Stroke involving a 90% obstruction of her Left Interior Carotid Artery.  She has lost much of her control of the Right Arm and Leg and a slurring of her speech.

She is currently in Sunrise Hospital Rehabilitation Ward, to strengthen her before a Vascular Surgeon can perform a Carotid Clearing procedure in about 3-4 weeks.  She is otherwise in good sprit but disappointed in her lack of ability to enjoy Las Vegas weather.  She is 89 years old, and Dad, a K of C Life Member is 93.   Prayers for both would be much appreciated.

Vivat Jesus,   Brother Knight,  Thomas Boganski, Council 9899

Prayer request for Mary and Gene Hebert

Brothers, I am asking for prayers for my mother and step-dad, Mary and Gene Hebert.  Today, Tuesday, my mother will be having heart valve repair surgery on her mitral valve at Carson Tahoe Hospital.  For those who are familiar, this is a difficult operation and will take her some time to recover.

We are firm believers in the healing power of prayer, and this will be a stressful time for us, especially her and my step-dad.  I know that the prayers of my Brother Knights and their families, will go a long way towards making this operation, as well as her recovery, a success.

Thank you all in advance.

Brother Knights,   Mesquite Council #13754 again requests your prayers for our Brother Wallace Mashburn. As you know, Wallace has been in a Las Vegas Hospital since Aug 5, 2007. He has been fighting for over 17 years and is still doing the same. He is still in ICU Rm 215, Mountain View Hospital. His pierced lung has healed and his double pneumonia is improving. He has developed kidney failure due to the massive dosage of anti-bioethics required to fight the pneumonia. He is alert but can not speak due to the "track" and the continued need for a ventilator. He is in serious condition and is in need of our prayers.

Thank all of you Brother Knights that have remembered him in your prayers and in your visits. He, Irene and his daughter have been very appreciative.

Message from Ginger Blythe:

As most of you know, Al's cancer has spread to his brain as well as other parts of his body.   We've been given a gift of time to prepare for the next journey, but only Our Good Lord knows for sure how long.

So. . .here's my idea.   I would like to have a Celebration of Life for Al now - while he can enjoy it and join in.    Please feel free to call him (783-8947 - home; 691-6887 - cell) or, better yet, come by for a visit (1486 Longfellow Ln - in Chichester).   You don't have to stay long and, as I'm observing, visits include some talk, tears, laughter, and lots of love.   Right now, this is what he needs.

All I ask is that if you want to come visit, please call first.   This way I can let you know if he's asleep or having a nurse visit or whatever.   Al and I have enjoyed many years with the Knights, and I know I can always count on you.

Thank you and God bless.
